FACILITIES

  • Comprehensive housing services are available to all residents throughout their life at the Home for a reasonable charge, payable monthly or yearly.

  • The type of stay can be permanent or temporary. Generally, a stay longer than 3 months would be considered permanent.

  • Male and female residents will be provided separate rooms. However, relatives (for instance, siblings, husband and wife, mother and son) will be accommodated in the same room unless requested otherwise, subject to availability.

  • MVR Residential Care Home’s approach to care is based on personalised care plans drawn up by involving the resident.

  • Each resident in the Home is treated with respect and his/her independence and choices are respected.

  • The Home is well-furnished and includes a common TV, a fridge, a music system, and dining table/chairs.

  • Apart from the one-time advance and monthly charges, no separate amount is charged for any routine service provided by the Home for residents who can take care of themselves.

  • Residents shall be allowed to install air conditioner/air cooler/air bed/TV/ other electronic equipment with prior approval of the Home. The resident/relative responsible/guardian will have to buy and arrange for the installation. Additional electricity/cable/rental charges shall be borne by the resident.

  • In the Home, every meal is prepared by the staff, taking into consideration the preference of each resident.

  • Permanent residents will be provided with clothes, toiletries, footwear, etc. by the Home.

  • The cleaning of the clothes of the residents will be taken care of by the staff in the Home.

  • The Home will bear the expenses of medicines in the case of casual illnesses such as fever, cough, cold, and casual pains. However, long-running medicines for specific diseases should be arranged by the resident at his/her own expense.

  • The Home ensures its effectiveness by supporting each of its residents to maintain good health, and by ensuring access to healthcare services and ongoing healthcare support. The Home encourages the local guardian/relatives of the resident to regularly communicate with residents and involve in obtaining medicines, making appointments, and taking the residents to doctors whenever necessary.

  • For a resident does not have a family doctor, if the family/guardian/friends are unable to involve in the treatment of the resident, care/treatment plans will be carefully drawn by the staff-in-charge in line with the consultation with doctors identified by the Home and approved by the management/ doctor on the Trust panel.
